Exhibition: Holmfirth Art Market (Sunday 14th November)

I’m really pleased to be able to tell you all about my forthcoming exhibition at Holmfirth at their annual ‘Art Market’.

I’ll be there on Sunday 14th November from 10am until 4pm.

There’ll be lots of other artists there with work for sale and it promises to be a really good day.

Holmfirth is a lovely place (a lot of you will know it well as the backdrop for ‘Last Of The Sumer Wine’) - there’s lots of lovely cafe’s and pubs, if the weathers good there’s a nice park for the kids, and there’ll be lots of nice refreshments within the exhibition.

My exciting new website!

A revamp was well overdue! I hope you like the look and feel of my updated website - I’ve tried to make everything a little simpler - not so many pages to navigate through and nice clear images.

The major change though concerns the fact that all my work will be available in one place: Folksy.com.

When you buy on Folksy you are getting something you won't find on the high street and you're also helping to support small businesses in the UK. The Folksy philosophy:
• We believe that there are a lot of talented people who make wonderful things and that those people and those things deserve a better platform.
• Small scale production and handmade goods offer ways to manage resources effectively and support local economies. We're not anti-globalisation but we just like a thriving cottage industry too :)
• Making stuff is fun. This is really important and taps into the inclusiveness of the site. We want to encourage more people to make things, not necessarily to sell, but for their own enjoyment.

Folksy obviously also run a very secure site, so it’s nice and safe to buy lots of goodies there!

I’m working on getting all of my jewellery designs and cards onto Folksy as soon as possible - let me know if there’s something you’d like that you can’t find on there.

You might also notice on a couple of my pages some links to Twitter and Facebook - feel free to add me / follow me. I’m not entirely sure when exactly I’m going to find the time, but I’ll update these pages as often as I can with any new designs I’m working on, exhibitions, or new pieces available on Folksy.

New Embroideries For Sale

This is my first blog in quite some time! I’ve got to be honest - things have been just a bit too busy recently to sit in front of the computer! The last few months have been spent putting together several new embroideries, the results of which I’m very happy with, and I’m now pleased to be able to offer them for sale on my website!

Click here to have a look at my new designs - there’s several to choose from and they’re all ready to be sent out the next day if you need them for gifts, etc. All pieces are mounted and framed and ready to be hung.

As usual with my embroideries, if you see something you like, but want to add your own twist, just email me and I can get straight to work on your own unique piece.

Christmas Exhibition

My latest exhibition will be up and running in the next few days at the fabulous Platform Gallery, right in the heart of the beautiful Lancashire countryside at Clitheroe.

It will run from 1st November until 3rd January 2009 and is entitled ‘Wonderland’. You can visit the Platform Gallery website by clicking here, which gives more detail on the kind of work you can expect to see there.

I will have 8 new embroideries featured in the show as well as many hand-made cards. So if you want a nice day out in the countryside mixed with some Christmas shopping, the Platform Gallery is just the place for you!

Christmas Discounts!

Well it’s only 9 weeks to go and counting! Before you know it, it’ll be Christmas Eve, the husband’s / dad’s will be panicking as usual and racing around the department stores grabbing the first thing they see (and probably the last thing on the shelf...).

So I’ve decided to make it easy for them this year! For the whole of November and December I’m giving 15% off all orders placed, which means you can order well in advance and know you’ve got it covered.

Also - every order will be gift-wrapped FREE and every silver pendant will, as usual, be provided with an 18” silver chain FREE!
